It makes my heart hurt to share, recently retired and long time Northmont coach Scott Newburg passed away yesterday from complications from a surgery. He’s a legend to me. Pretty much the only wrestling coach I ever had. From JH and through hs…. In 1987, I tried out for the 7th grade basketball team and didn’t make it… I decided to try wrestling without knowing anything about the sport. It was young Newburg’s first year coaching. He moved up to high school HC my sophomore year, and remained for over 30 years. He has a lot to do with the love and passion I have for our sport to this day. Rest easy Coach
